CTC Breakdown Calculator
CTC (Cost to Company) is the total your employer spends on you in a year, but it is not what lands in your bank account. Enter your annual CTC to see a typical split into Basic salary, HRA, employer PF, gratuity and special allowance.
How it works
- Enter your annual CTC in rupees (the number in your offer letter).
- The calculator applies a common Indian salary structure: Basic 40% of CTC, HRA 50% of Basic, employer PF 12% of Basic, gratuity 4.81% of Basic.
- Read your yearly and monthly Basic, and each component, instantly.
Example: on a Rs. 6,00,000 CTC, Basic is typically Rs. 2,40,000/year (Rs. 20,000/month), HRA Rs. 1,20,000, employer PF Rs. 28,800 and gratuity about Rs. 11,544.
Common questions
Is CTC the same as take-home salary?
No. CTC includes components you never receive in cash, like employer PF and gratuity. Take-home is CTC minus PF, professional tax and income tax. Use our take-home salary calculator for that estimate.
Does every company use this exact structure?
No. Structures vary - some companies keep Basic at 50% of CTC, some cap PF at Rs. 1,800/month. Treat this as a typical structure and check your salary slip for your actual split.
Is my salary data stored anywhere?
No. This calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers.
